The stars of ‘The Adventures of Paul and Marian’ are all American hero Paul Herbig and oh so lovely Marian Brock, as opposed to your old ma and pa Paul and Marian here in Blighty. We do however play the roles of the vicar and his glamorous wife and to prove the point this movie is not about us, Marian Sinclair does not have a speaking part!
The Adventures of Paul and Marian will run around 90 minutes with credits. Editing, barring some minor tweaks, is completed and the response to the edit from the professional colleagues I’ve shown it to has been very positive. Oliver Forel, our compositor (the person who takes away the green screen and replaces it with wonderful backgrounds) is hard at work. This is painstakingly slow because it’s fairly complex, but Oliver is a bit of a genius. The still below shows how one of our shots looks before Oliver’s work and how it looks after he’s done the compositing. It’s still rough, but you’ll get the idea. Composer Zach Abramson and I plan to have the songs recorded and the score for the film and once the music is in place and most of the backgrounds are done, we will move on to sound design. Our goal is to have the movie 100% completed by early 2013 in time to submit to some of the bigger film festivals. If I can say so without appearing too immodest, the movie has turned out to be really good. But I’ll let you judge for yourselves once it’s finished next year. Jay Stern – Producer.
