All Saints Church Men’s Breakfast

Laughter and tears at Now Open Sundays!

Every month the men at All Saints Church of England, Thorpe Acre with Dishley, Loughborough meet for a breakfast so on today’s bright and beautiful morning Paul went along solo as guest speaker. It is a joy to share a morning with so many men who have that wonderful balance of practicality and spirituality. Men’s meetings are seldom a priority in church life, yet I think they are vital. Typically church life is focused on services where we listen to someone and sing or activities that are attractive to ladies, children and sometimes families, but just how often do a group of blokes get the chance to enjoy quality time together? For busy men outside of a sport’s team, club or pub this is a real problem and I reckon there would be a lot more men in church if there were a lot more meetings like this and finishing at ten the whole day is still free. Men’s meetings don’t have to be particularly long, just well planned and run. One fellow had been on the night shift, yet he came in to listen and enjoy good company before going home. Another was a Mod. I always wondered where they went on non-scooter days, now at last I know!
