Mike Harris’s Healing Explosion

Marian went solo to sing in Leicestershire, but rather than write about ourselves… again… we thought we’d draw attention to Mike Harris the evangelist. This evening we went along to support Mike, who was running his ‘Healing Explosion’ seminars in Smethwick.

Mike Harris and the notably enthusiastic team in action

Mike’s approach is very friendly and he delivered a surprisingly short message, at least short for Pentecostals I guess. This was primarily a testimonial of testimonials, but you couldn’t help but find yourself being built up. What is interesting about Mike is his ability to inspire faith and confidence without going into some sort of wind up mode or hype. Far from it, here is a fellow you feel you can relate to and would happily bring a friend round to meet. Most importantly, Jesus is central to the message.

Quality and anointed time for all who ask for prayer

Off to the side of the platform there were some neatly lined up empty chairs and these were put to a most unusual use. After Mike preached the most excellent solo guitarist led the singing and the chairs were put out in a line. People who needed prayer for healing came forward and a good-sized team of people manned the chairs to pray for them. This meant lots of people got quality time and the meeting didn’t drag on at all as a result.

Fire blanket for Ignite Ministries

Yes, I must admit, I like the way Mike and the team work together and would encourage you to visit his website at http://www.ignitus.info/. Now, on a lighter note, I couldn’t help but note the banner for ‘ignite’ was parked beside the fire extinguishers and fire blanket. Mike told me he hadn’t noticed, so I pointed out that’s because while he does the wonders, I do the signs!
