Paul and Marian have completed their three scenes in the up and coming, dare I say future cult movie, The Adventures of Paul and Marian. Our motorbike chase scene was shot against a green screen and the background will be added in at the post-production stage soon. Not exactly ‘Holiday in Rome’ with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck, but a certainly a nice spin on the genre. Apparently my dance sequence with Marian was really something else. One of the crew members, Marcus Slabine, said he had never seen anything like it in his life!
Paul Herbig plays the adventurous Paul while I play the vicar and Marian plays the Vicar’s glamorous wife! Marian Brock who plays Marian was recently starred in God of Love, which won the best short film Oscar.
We enjoyed Victor Varnado‘s stand up at the Broadway Comedy Club and he has numerous creative abilities, including writing for Marvel Comics, but the most wonderful insight to us was his committment to his own local community in Brooklyn. Victor has what I call a pastor’s heart as his compassion and passion to see local folks try out their talents and cultivate them before others is inspirational. Victor is a busy man with numerous irons in the fire, yet his love for others nearby above all else is clearly paramount. Most importantly, like me, he does not waste his hormones growing hair!
The behind the scenes team is much larger than any television production or programme I’ve worked on, in fact even Robbie Coltrane’s B Road Britain wasn’t on this scale and I did watch with amazement how Jay Stern, Mara Tuleutayeva the AD (Assistant Director)
and the whole team worked. The overall discipline was extraordinary and I must confess I felt immensely proud to be there at all. If the team who are putting it together are anything to go by this is going to be quite a movie!
Note: Apologies for different sizes of pictures. I have not quite got the hang of these new MacBook and iPhone things yet!
